The Canon Store started a refurbished sale last night. Which deals are the best available?
Why? Although not the lowest price seen yet, these two lenses are both steeply discounted, and within $200 of the best price seen yet. Both prices are well below the used market prices of the lens, and the sale seems to have quite a bit of stock (unlike the Black Friday sale)!
Why? This isn’t the lowest price ever, but other than for five brief minutes during Black Friday 2024, we haven’t seen a lower price for this refurbished lens for over a year. Given all the pent-up demand, this lens has been very popular during this sale as well as the January (which featured the same price).
Why? This is within $10 of the lowest price seen throughout 2024 for this refurbished lens — a great deal, and only $20 more than the refurbished EF counterpart!

Woot! (an Amazon Company) is listing the Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM for $348.73. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this lens, which is noted to be in new condition. Note that their listing only specifies a 90 Day Woot Limited Warranty, so you may want to consider this lens “grey market”.

Something different from Canon USA: they have launched a crowdfunding campaign (on Indiegogo) for their new “SwingRec” Golf Camera. This latest product is an ultra-wide-angle camera that captures a golf swing with hands-free AI-triggered recording, and through a companion app, can provide real-time feedback and visual analysis with video overlays. Early bird pricing starts at $279.
Canon USA is not new to using crowdfunding to test new products in the market — they launched their PowerShot PICK cameras on the same platform in 2022. That item appears to not have been successful over the long-run, given the deep clearance sale of the portable pan-tilt-zoom camera in November 2024 at a 87% discount from the initial $449 price.
