Several Canon USA authorized dealers have notified their customers about upcoming price increases from Canon and other photography brands. One dealer announced: “Due to recent tariff increases on imported goods, we’re facing higher costs and prices will be going up within the next 1-2 weeks.”
The most likely dates for a Canon USA price increase would either be April 21st or April 28th. Both the dealer price as well as the end-consumer MSRP will be increasing. We’re hearing (but have not yet confirmed) that the magnitude of the increase will be approximately 7-8%, and be across the entire Canon camera and lens line-up.
In the apt words of another dealer, “if you’ve been eyeing something special, now’s the time — order soon to lock in current pricing”.
